Thomas strikes again!

Freudenstein 175 of 1904 impersonating the famous blue engine at the ARHS Railway Museum, Bassendean on 9 May 2002.

This 0-4-0WT locomotive was built by Stahlbahnwerke Freudenstein of Tempelhof, Berlin as their builder's no.175 of 1904.  It operated at the Golden Ridge gold mine at Kalgoorlie, together with sister Freudenstein b/n 217 of 1905.  Both locomotives were acquired by the Western Machinery Company, Kalgoorlie when the Golden Ridge mine fell into financial difficulties.

Freudenstein b/n 175 was handed over to the Australian Railway Historical Society for preservation in 1963 and placed on display at the Bassendean Railway Museum.
